FC Wichita Adds Welton Silva To Academy Staff

WICHITA, Ks. (September 16, 2021) - Adding to the success and growth of the FC Wichita Youth Academy, which has recently had multiple national platforms awarded to the city, and has now also seen numerous players sign NCAA DI commitment letters, FC Wichita announced today the expansion of it's academy staff with the addition of Brazilian international, Welton Silva.

"We are excited to have Welton in Wichita," said FC Wichita CEO Blake Shumaker. "His experience as a player took him as far as the UEFA Champions League, which is unmatched for anyone in our youth systems. But this hire goes far beyond just sharing playing experience, Welton has the posture and voice of a top coach. This is evident from his resume with international academies such as PSG and Juventus, and it's certainly recognizable in his daily training sessions here."

Silva will immediately step into a leadership role within multiple levels of the academy, as well as serving as the camp and clinics director for the club as a whole.

"We are excited to have Welton share his knowledge of the game throughout the entire community, not just with FC Wichita," says FC Wichita Technical Director Bryan Perez. "As camp director we know he will have the freedom to help more players find their way."
