Ladies move atop table with clean sheet
The FC Wichita women kept their hot start to the season going with a dominant performance at Stryker Stadium on Saturday, putting six past the Arkansas Comets earning the three points with a 6-0 victory.
The Reds improve to 4-1 on the season, earning 12 points from 15 in their first five games.
Kansas Wesleyan's Kayla Deaver netted a brace for Wichita, opening the scoring with a shot from the edge of the box in the sixth minute. Then, she earning her second with a clean finish off a breakaway just five minutes later.
Destiny Hoy and Rachel Wolecki added goals at the end of the first half to send Wichita cruising into the first forty-five.
Hoy earned her second goal of the game in the 86nd minute off an assist from Yossi Villagrana, and it was Paige Puttner who cemented the victory with a goal just before the full time whistle in the 89th minute.
It’ll be a quick turnaround for the Reds as they head to Oklahoma City on Sunday for an evening matchup with Side FC 92.
