LeBaron Hollimon Joins FC Wichita Coaching Staff
FC Wichita is pleased to announce LeBaron Hollimon as the newest member of it's coaching staff. He will begin his new duties on May 1st, 2021.
Hollimon, or "LB" as his friends call him, spent the last 8 years coaching at California State University, San Bernardino of the NCAA. Beginning with the 2014-2015 season Hollimon was an assistant coach for the men's team, before taking the women's head coaching job from 2015-2020. For the last two years he has also coached professionally for the Ontario Fury of Major Arena Soccer League ("MASL"), which plays in the National Championship game next week.
"I am very excited and grateful for this opportunity to be a part of FC Wichita, " says Hollimon. "It's an honor to be an important member for the growth this organization has committed to. I feel like I will be able to help them achieve the wonderful visions they've communicated."
A return to Wichita soccer is more than a coming home party for one of the areas all-time greats. His arrival couldn't have been timed any better after the recent announcements surrounding the club growth of FC Wichita, says FC Wichita managing partner Blake Shumaker.
"LeBaron is arriving home at a huge time in our local and national expansion," said Shumaker. "He's a valuable addition to our staff and community, there's no doubt that his leadership and professionalism will be a game changer for both our players and coaches. On a personal level he always has a way of teaching me as well, so I'm looking forward to picking his brain as much as possible."
Hollimon will be a key figure for FC Wichita and work in all facets of the club. He will serve immediately as a Director of Coaching for U13-19 ages, the ECNL U19 Girls and ECNL U15 Boys Head Coach, as well as a coaching staff member for both the USL (men) and UWS (Women).
LeBaron will also be reuniting with FC Wichita Technical Director Bryan Perez, who played for Hollimon with the Wichita Wings during the 2010-2012 seasons. "With all the great platforms the club has recently established, we felt LB is someone who can connect all the pieces and help to put everything together for us," said Perez. "His addition means we're even more prepared to keep moving forward with our main goal, which has always been developing players. I'm very excited to work with him."
