USL League Two Announces 2023 Divisional Alignment

2023 is set to be the biggest and best season of League Two soccer yet.

This year, two new divisions take center stage, bringing the league's total to 16 within the same four conferences as years past.

"It's so encouraging to see all these clubs pulling the same way," USL VP of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties, Joel Nash, said. "Everyone is on board with making this an elite pre-professional environment that gives all our players, coaches and executives the chance to carve out a professional future."

Teams will play between 10 and 14 regular season games within their division, before moving onto a regional and national playoff in July.

MAJOR CHANGES COMING

The 2023 divisional alignment is sure to make waves all over the league.

With continued expansion in Florida and California, two new divisions are making their debut this season - The South Florida division and the NorCal Division. Expansion sides Academica SC and Monterey Bay FC 2 will be part of the new Western Conference division, where they'll join five other clubs to form NorCal.

Sarasota Paradise will join Weston FC, Miami AC, FC Miami City and Altitude Rush in the South Florida Division, the second Florida division in the Southern Conference.

2021 League Two Champion Des Moines Menace have found their way back to the Heartland Division after a season in the Deep North.
